d12 is a monthly snail mail club that combines the warmth of a cozy fantasy village with the adventure of Dungeons & Dragons. In the world of d12, you are an adventurer receiving news of home through a monthly letter and newspaper from your friends and neighbors, delivered right to you by pseudodragon.
What's Inside:
- In-world fictional newspaper: The Cattail Rambler. Read about local news and seasonal events, view the latest wanted posters and ads, and dive into the village's unfolding lore.
- Handwritten character letter: Each month, you will receive a personal letter from someone in town, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what the newspaper might have missed.
- Custom pre-filled character sheet: Bring the magic of d12 to your D&D table with a character sheet filled out with stats and character artwork for one of the characters straight from the story!
- High quality vinyl sticker: Each envelope includes a two-and-a-half-inch fantastical die cut vinyl sticker featuring original artwork related to that month's story.
- An additional rotating surprise: Each month will include one extra surprise in every envelope to add another layer to the experience, whether additional original artwork, an immersive story-relevant item, or something else. Items potentially featured include hand-illustrated bookmarks, story-related recipe cards, custom art prints, unique trading cards, and more.
Become a part of the realm!
Do you have a D&D character who would fit well into the story world of d12? Are they on an adventure that would interest Cattail Rambler readers? Much like a real-world newspaper, Cattail Rambler is always looking for stories of the adventures of residents! As a monthly or annual subscriber to d12, you can submit your own story blurbs, character rumors, or advertisements to be featured in the paper.
Please note that submissions are reviewed for family friendliness. In addition, submitting content does not guarantee being featured, and being featured does not guarantee character artwork. Subscriber submissions will likely not be front-page headlines or recurring characters.
FAQ:
Can I join at any time, or will I miss the story?
You can jump in whenever you like! Where there is an overarching timeline to d12's lore, each issue of Cattail Rambler and its accompanying letter are written to be enjoyed as standalone stories. There are always new things happening in town!
What is the cost of a subscription?
A monthly subscription costs $12 per month. Purchasing an annual subscription is $125 annually ($19 cheaper than a monthly subscription, or approximately a month and a half for free).
How do I submit my character/story?
Monthly and annual subscribers can submit by emailing editor@d12mailclub.com. Emails from non-subscribers will be ignored.
What game system are the character sheets designed for?
The character sheets are 5E compatible.
This work includes material from the System Reference Document 5.2.1 (“SRD 5.2.1”) by Wizards of the Coast LLC, available at https://www.dndbeyond.com/srd. The SRD 5.2.1 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.
The character sheets might also include homebrew content, such as custom backgrounds. The sheets sent in the mail club will most commonly be level one sheets to allow for the greatest adaptability for your game. Higher level digital versions of character sheets may be made available for subscribers.
What level is the character sheet?
The current plan is for the physical character sheets to be designed for level one characters, to give players the opportunity to build them in their preferred direction at higher levels. Digital higher level character sheets might be made available to subscribers in the future, but that is a work in progress.
Where do you ship?
Currently, d12 only ships to the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship to all corners of the world at this time. We are a small business just getting our start and learning the ropes.
Additionally, European recycling and packaging laws (PPWR) make it too costly for us to ship to the EU at this time. These laws require small international shops to hire an authorized compliance representative within Europe to audit our packaging. We are a fledgling small business and cannot manage this requirement right now.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancelled subscriptions will end after the last month you have paid for. We cannot refund your money and pause an annual subscription in the middle of the subscription. We also don't have the capacity to pause subscriptions, though if you cancel, you are welcome to rejoin at any time!
